14th CO2GeoNet open forum: Act now for zero emissions
7-8 MAY 2019, S.Servolo island, Venice
ENOS consortium is happy to invite all stakeholder to the CO2GeoNet OpenForum, which will be held on San Servolo Island in Venice, Italy, from 7 to 8 May 2019.
The Open Forum will be anticipated by a joint workshop CSFL-CO2GEONET on 6 May 2019 , and followed by post-open forum workshops on 9 May 2019.
The event, now in its 14th year, has become a “must-attend” event for stakeholders, including EU representatives, industry, regulators, public authorities, NGOs, and the research community, and gives a unique opportunity to meet and interact directly with Europe’s largest group of researchers on CO2 geological storage.
CO2 Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) is a vital part of the “climate solution”, i.e. it cannot be neglected in the overarching climate change mitigation concept.
To accelerate the deployment and application of the full CCUS value chain, strong focus should be placed on the storage component.
Large scale industrial emitters and industries using CO2 as a feedstock need to recognise the necessity of storage solutions and be prepared to link with this component through the capture and transport aspects of the CCUS chain.
Society could play a more active role if we can achieve stronger public engagement and support for CCUS by sharing the benefits that can be realised through deployment of CCuS.
To join the CCUS chain sections together, new information about world-wide developments should be distributed between all participants of the CCUS value chain.
We look forward to discussing these topics and more with you at the Open Forum.
